Reflexology is based on the theory that certain points on the feet and/or hands correspond to certain organs and body parts and that applying pressure to the areas can promote health in the corresponding parts. Reflexology is also used for post-operative or palliative care. A study in the American Cancer Society journal found that one-third of cancer patients used reflexology as a complementary therapy.
Reflexology helps to promote relaxation, improves circulation, soothes over worked feet and/or hands. No need to worry if you are ticklish, your therapist will use a firmer pressure. During your session, you may have some sore and/or tender areas – those are the areas that will be concentrated on. As with any massage, it is important to keep your therapist informed about the pressure being used – this can always be adjusted. The soreness and/or tenderness will subside during and after your session.
Each massage integrates a variety of modalities to ensure you have a customized treatment at each visit.
Session Duration – 30 minutes
