Swedish

massage

Swedish Massage known as Relaxation Massage is the most popular form of massage and promotes overall relaxation by manipulating muscle tissue using a variety movements using long gliding strokes, kneading and cross fiber friction with light, medium or firm pressure. As with any massage, it is important to keep your therapist informed about the pressure being used – this can always be adjusted. Swedish massage increases blood flow and oxygen to all muscles and organs helping to promote a boost in the immune system by reducing cortisol levels, helps promote relaxation, aids in digestive health and helps to release muscle tension.

The Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) notes that Swedish massage can break up muscle adhesions and help promote the healthy healing of scar tissue. Swedish Massage uses strokes like cross-fiber friction to work out the kinks that can accompany injured muscles. These strokes help get rid of scar tissue and return the muscles to their normal, healthy state.

Each massage integrates a variety of modalities to ensure you have a customized treatment at each visit.

Session Duration – 60 minutes or 90 minutes
